Coconut Beach - Cape Tribulation

Go to www.daintreecoast.com and check out the Deserted Beaches including our favourite Coconut Beach.

Hire a car in Port and drive north through Mossman and the cane fields. Make sure you buy some fresh bananas where you cross the Daintree River. The gorgeous Coconut Beach is 2 km south of Cape Tribulation.

You can access this beach through the restaurant or from further south where the road touches the beach. The beach is very quiet, and particularly inviting with late afternoon sun.

There is a large fringing reef with a steep drop off, which provides excellent fishing with handlines at low tide out on the reef edge. Small stingrays (!) may be observed inbetween the rocks when the tide is out, (if you are persitent that is).

When you get thirsty - have a cocktail from the resort bar just behind the beach. You can walk north to the river mouth of Myall Creek, but do not cross - as large crocodiles lives here.
