Where is ?

Most resorts have understood the importance of providing good information online, including the basics such as "how to find us".

However, not all do for some reason or other ... If you want to check where a particular resort is located, one very easy place to go is the Yellow Pages Where Is section. For example, Mantra Aqueous on Port is in 3 Davidson Street Port Douglas. Type it in, and you get a great map of the town with the resort clearly marked.

The other thing to try is of course Google Earth which can be downloaded free of charge from http://earth.google.com Enter "Port Douglas Australia" and it takes you there in no time. I get a magnificent view of the town, but it gets a bit blurry when I try to focus on the individual resorts.

Still in Port Douglas I entered Cooktown, and Google Earth zooms out a bit before we head up along the coast. What a great tool to have at hand for any curious and inquisitive traveller!! (Hint: the "proper" road to Cooktown was just completed earlier this year, and it might be worth testing it out).
