Palm Cove

Moving from Port Douglas towards Cairns - Palm Cove is another popular spot that has experienced major developments in the past 5 years. One key difference to Port is that the major resorts are situated right on the beach, (but in my opinion, it is not quite like the 4 Mile Beach, and it can also get a bit windy along the Esplanade).

Enjoy an early morning dip in the tranquil Coral Sea waters directly opposite your resort or luxuriate in the tropical warmth beside pool. Wander the stretch of Palm Cove Esplanade to discover a chic range of restaurants and cocktail bars that will satisfy both discerning palates and family appetites.

Palm Cove is fast becoming the Riviera of Tropical North Queensland. A mere thirty minutes drive north from the bustle of central Cairns, it has become an enclave for those seeking luxury amidst palm fringed tranquillity. Increasing numbers of accomplished restaurateurs have also been drawn to the area by this new-style chic and the dining scene is now at the forefront of the tropical north Queensland culinary experience.

The Cove is ideally situated between Port Douglas and Cairns, giving easy access to the retail opportunities and the multitude of day trips available while those intending to visit the Great Barrier Reef can board the high speed catamarans which depart from Palm Cove’s jetty. Palm Cove exudes a sense of intimacy, that of a sophisticated village overlooking the beauty of the Coral Sea and embraced by the warmth of the tropical north.
