This hasn't got a lot to do with Australian travel, but then again, the World Cup only comes around every four years (or in our case every thirtyfour years).
First up at midnight is Italy vs Czech Republic in the Group of Death.
Basically, the Czechs which are ranked 2nd in the world (even though they may not be that good) probably have to beat Italy to go through - and if they do, the Azzurri will not qualify for the next round if Ghana beats the USA. This is an absolute cracker, especially if we are lucky enough to see an early goal by either team.
Based on history, Italy always just scrapes through (no more no less), so Ghana might just stuff up - but Italy and the Czechs will have no way of knowing. Prediction 1 - 1.
The main game at 5am is of course Australia vs Croatia. I thought we were unlucky to be beaten by Brazil, and Harry Kewell missed a sitter just after he came on. Croatia is a very good team, but they do not score enough goals. I feel that the socceroos are on a good wicket and will do enough to go through. Prediction 1 - 1 and I hope Viduka gets the goal !!
